Mahnoosh received her PhD from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2013 in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing. The focus of her graduate research was on studying the impact of speaking style on different speech processing systems such as speaker and language identification and speech recognition. After finishing her PhD, she has worked on several areas of spoken language understanding at At&t Research Labs, and currently at Interactions. Some of her research interests are combining natural language processing techniques with signal processing, uncertainty estimation and confidence measurement for spoken language understanding systems, and applying prosodic features in dialogue systems.
